Created in 1970, it was one of the first French universities that really turned to the international and was the initiator of international degrees with the first cooperation with the university or Nurnberg-Erlangen in Germany so it has a long history of international development.
Rennes University is a University focused on exact and hard sciences with an important research component. Its teaching and intensive research activities have made these universities ranked in the Shanghai Ranking since 2007. Currently the University hosts more than 29 000 students with 3400 international students. Rennes has a strong experience in teaching in English aside from French, as the university offers already a dozen of Master’s completely taught in English. Apart from that, Rennes University offers about 30 double-degrees all around the world, including 2 Erasmus Mundus Master programs and the brand-new French-Georgian Bachelor in Food technologies applied to milk products transformation in cooperation with the Georgian Technical University.
